2.8″ Transflective TFT LCD Display

A transflective TFT display uses an optical structure to transmit backlight illumination and reflect ambient light towards the viewer. Depending on its construction, a partially reflective layer may perform this function. In dim environments, the backlight provides most of the illumination. As surrounding light levels increase, reflected light contributes more to the image, helping preserve contrast and readability without relying solely on a brighter backlight. This dual-mode approach supports visibility across changing lighting conditions and can lower power consumption when sufficient ambient light allows the backlight to be dimmed or turned off.

This 2.8″ transflective display is well suited to handheld test instruments, portable measurement devices, industrial controllers and compact marine electronics. Its 47.7 × 67.95 × 2.6 mm outline dimensions make it an option for space-constrained equipment, while its −30°C to +80°C operating range supports designs exposed to temperature variation. For battery-powered products, transflective operation offers potential energy savings where the backlight can be reduced during outdoor use

The 13-028QFCB0HB0-S supports MCU 8080 or serial interfaces and uses an ST7789V2 display driver IC. The display circuitry and interface logic operate from 2.4–3.3 V supplies, with separate electrical requirements for the LED backlight. Compatibility should be checked against your controller’s interface, signal levels and firmware.
