Touchscreen GPIO Interface from Rocktouch

Relec Electronics are pleased to introduce a new and innovative touchscreen feature from Rocktouch.  The R line range of rugged PCAP touch panels now have a dedicated GPIO interface (General Purpose Input Output) fitted as standard. The touchscreen GPIO interface allows users to drive specific functions outside the display and touch panel.  The touchscreen GPIO feature can be used for a variety of applications including:

• Disable the touchscreen for cleaning
• Security – Use for dedicated users only
• Screen rotation

The video below shows an example where the touchscreen GPIO pins are used to “freeze” the PCAP for cleaning, whilst leaving the display on.
