Here at RELEC we fully understand that it is not just the input supply which can damage a power supply, but also the output load. We were asked to supply a converter which could be used to power wiper systems on trains. As well as finding a solution for 24V and 110V train batteries we had to find a product which could withstand the back emfs and start up currents of the wiper motors.
Key to sourcing a reliable solution for the project was identifying a PSU with a square
current limit characteristic. This would ensure that the motors would start correctly every time. The HR2320-9RG fully meets the current railway standards and is a stock item for us here at RELEC and can operate from all traction supply voltages.
