PMBus enabled power supplies

Relec Electronics is pleased to announce the introduction of 2 more fully enabled PMBus compatible power supplies (CoolX 600 and CoolX 1800) to join the existing PMBus enabled Xsolo products from Excelsys.

The Power Management Bus (PMBus) is an open-standard digital power management protocol which allows all of the key features of a power supply to controlled by the end user. This can be a valuable feature during product development, but equally can be used in the end system where dynamic control of the power supply is important for correct system operation.

Implementation of the PMBus protocol in the CoolX and Xsolo products give the user control of the following parameters, with set points and measurements available to an accuracy of +/- 4%

• Module Identification
• Over temperature alarm
• AC Fail

Adjustments

• Output Voltage

• Module Enable / Disable
• System Enable / Disable
