Our customer was looking for a 24Vdc 10A power supply capable of running a series of stepper motors, pumps and control electronics for a light industrial / domestic 3D printer with all of the approvals and certifications needed to be used globally.
The power supply had to cope with a mix of inductive, capacitive and resistive loads and with operating times often in excess of 1 hour, prove reliable over a long print period compared to that of standard 2D printers. RELEC were able to pinpoint the right PSU for the task, working closely with the factory to make some adjustments to the current limit characteristics, yet still keep the costs within budget.
We were able to source samples quickly for testing. Once approved we managed the logistics to bring product to the customer’s shop floor on the day they were needed. With these power supplies meeting level VI for efficiency, and carry both CE and cUL approvals, the customer is also able to offer his product to both the European, American and other global markets.
